Langley Events Centre Soccer Scoreboard Foundations
The Langley Events Centre required three deep caisson foundations to support a new soccer scoreboard, installed directly adjacent to the soccer field used by Vancouver FC of the Canadian Premier League. TerraCana navigated equipment through a highly landscaped park and active arena environment, completing all three piles in just three days with a three-person crew.

The Challenge
Getting equipment to the work area was the primary challenge. All rigs, materials, and support equipment had to be moved through a highly landscaped park and active arena facility. J.Cote & Sons installed extensive ground protection to minimize damage to the landscaping, and access required careful coordination of deliveries, pickups, and spoils removal.
The work area sat directly against the Vancouver FC soccer field, used by the Canadian Premier League team. Spoils control was critical to protect the playing surface. While the immediate work zone was closed off, the surrounding park and arena remained open and active throughout construction.

The Solution
TerraCana mobilized on a quick turnaround and coordinated closely with J.Cote & Sons and facility staff to manage access and minimize disruption. The team drove three 48-inch diameter pipe piles to 30 feet deep using a Bauer RTG19 vibratory pile rig, then augered out the soils from inside the casings with a SoilMec SR30 before filling with concrete.
Soil conditions were favourable, with soft clay over dense glacial till. The piles were terminated at the till surface, providing a firm bearing layer without needing to penetrate it.
GeoPacific provided geotechnical engineering for the project.
